Temporary marriage commissioners are appointed for one day to perform a civil (non-religious) marriage ceremony.
This is a restricted program. Appointed temporary marriage commissioners:
- must be eligible to be appointed
- are appointed for one day
- are only authorized to perform a civil (non-religious) marriage ceremony
- may be appointed as a temporary marriage commissioner up to 3 times per calendar year
There is no cost to become a temporary marriage commissioner.
