How to register your business in BC, Manitoba, or Saskatchewan.

Overview

The New West Partnership Trade Agreement is a trade relationship between Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Manitoba joined the trade agreement on January 1, 2017.

The agreement makes it easier for corporations, cooperatives, limited partnerships (LP) and limited liability partnerships (LLP) to operate across provincial borders. Registration and reporting requirements are simplified or eliminated to make business expansion more cost-effective.

Register Alberta corporation or LP

Step 1. Search and reserve your business name (online services)

You need to apply and pay for a name search and reservation before you register your business in the other province. Apply for a name reservation:

Step 2. Submit your corporation or LP registration application online

There is no cost for registration of your business. You will receive confirmation from the other province when your registration has been completed.

Register Alberta LLP or cooperative

Step 1. Search and reserve your business name (online services)

You need to apply and pay for a name search and reservation in the other province before your register your LLP or cooperative.

Step 2. Fill out the registration forms

Alberta Corporate Registry will send the completed form to the other province. When the LLP or cooperative has been registered in that province you will receive confirmation of the registration.
