Revive a Legal Entity

To revive an Alberta corporation and an Alberta society, Articles of Revival and Articles of Revival of a Society respectively are required.

Reviving a non-profit company usually requires a court order. The Companies Act must be consulted for specifics.

An extra-provincial corporation will reinstate and must complete the Application to Reinstate Extra-Provincial Corporation. The authorized service provider can assist in this process.

There is no provision in the Partnership Act to revive a business name if it becomes inactive. A new trade name, partnership, limited partnership, limited liability partnership, name must be registered.

To revive an Alberta society or restore a non-profit company, a request must be submitted to the Corporate Registry office.
