Paying Fines
If you have received a summons (ticket) for a moving (e.g. speeding) or non-moving (e.g. parking) offence, and you have not dealt with it by the due date on the summons, you may be convicted in absence. The overdue fine will then be transferred to the Motor Vehicles database where a late penalty charge will be added. This outstanding fine must be paid before any motor vehicle service can be performed for you. Outstanding fines can be paid at any registry agent office or on-line. Alberta Motor Association locations provide services to members only.
Paying a Traffic Ticket Online
To pay a traffic ticket online, you will require:
- A Part 3 Violation Ticket (yellow copy, current or overdue) (Note: If the ticket is overdue, any late payment charges are added to the original fine amount. If you do not pay the full overdue amount, your motor vehicle services will remain restricted.)
- A valid VISA or Mastercard for payment
- A web browser that has 128-bit encryption capabilities (to ensure the security of your transaction)
A $9.00 service fee, plus GST, is charged for all transactions. This is the same service fee that is currently charged at registry agent offices.
Internet Fine Payment System
